I need the name of the really upbeat orchestra/opera type song you hear at the end of so many sports mixes right before a game starts on TV. I can kind of hum it but I have no idea the name.

Dont make fun :-) but its like

CRASH da-da da-da .. CRASH da-da da-da. CRASH da da da daaaaa daaaaa daaaa... then up an octave.. CRASH da-da da-da.. CRASH da-da da-da ....

its always right before a game might be starting, the announcers are saying " its a clash between 2 teams, the warriors must make stand blah blah blah" and this music is pumping in the background. Praying someone knows.

It is (as usual) "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

I don't think so this time, Malcolm. Though I was right with you until I read the details. I have no inkling of what it could be; the description isn't far off from Mendelssohn's Wedding March from Midsummer Night's Dream. I'm pretty sure that isn't it. Could be some sort of fanfare.

The piece might not be a traditional piece. As in it may not be something from the old compossers(Mozart, Scarlatti) try looking into modern composers, YouTube might have some info for you.
