ebay or a garage sale. This isn't a joke audiophiles love both if you have anything in your collection worth something they will find you. There are still some "record" stores that will buy your stuff but if you have a large collection they'll offer you a flat fee for everything (some do it by "measuring" your collection; put all your lps along the wall what's the length 20 feet ok we'll give you $20 bucks for all of 'em) and hope they find a gem you couldn't identify yourself. Buying guides are rough because they go out of date before they're printed and really don't represent the "fan" aspect very well. Ebay is easy but you would have to take pictures of the covers (front/back) and the actual record (front/back) the better the photos the better your prospects. You would also need to glean all discography information of the lps and present it in a logical manner. A lot of work for what could be very little return.

Who wants 'em

1)audiophiles

2)collectors

3)fans

4)kids who think vinyl is hip (I have my stack to prove I was one)

Important things to consider

1)Condition

2)Artist

3)Label

4)Reissued or not on CD mp3 whatever

The honest answer is that there is little or no demand for old LP records. Most of any merit have been reissued on CD by now, There are a few audiophiles who prefer vinyl, but they are very few and far between and will be very picky about what they buy. If you are in the UK or the USA buy Gramophone magazine. That does contain a few display and small ads for people wishing to buy old classical LPs. You could try selling them on e-bay, but don't expect a rush of bids. ASlso don't expect to make a killing. The market just isn't there

Simple & hassle free if you were to place an ad in your local newspaper. I'll bet you'll sell them right away to the right buyer. If you ask to have your ad run throughout the weekend, more people will see the paper. ( I was told this when I recently placed an ad) Good luck!

Your best bet is probably ebay or craig's list. Or you might google used record shops.
