Question:
Need a Brass Quintet Group Name!?

We need a name. We are two trumpets, a tuba, french horn, and trombone. Our names are Quincy, Josh, Anna, Tim, and Chris, and Tim is the leader.
Think of a catchy name for us? We thought of "Tim's Tune-A Tin" but that isn't a very good name.
Help is needed! Thanks

I like I. Jone's 'No Strings Attached'

And Hafwen came up with some wonderful names.

So, I'll humbly add:

Brass Act (a play on Class Act)

Tin Horns

Tin Machine (as long as David Bowie doesn't sue you)

Horns Of Plenty (going for the esoteric)

Brass Facts (another pun)

Brass Gold (classy sounding) or Golden Brass

The Horny Quintet (for an 'R' rated name)

Quincy, meaning five, would of course be an ideal name ... but hard to swallow for the leader (and perhaps three other members).

Don't know you're specific style, but here are a few suggestions:

Honkers!

Brass Mirror

Fortis Mo'

The Spit-valve Five

Winded Warriors

Blast or Brass Blast

No Strings Attached

Rotary Valve

Tintype

Some great ideas here...here's some I thought of:

QUATCJy tunes

Bold as Brass

Brassy Brats

Classy Brass

Brass with Class

Copper+Tin (for Chemistry buffs...)

Or, you could go with synonyms of brass like:

Impudence

Audacity

Polished

Cheek

Nerve

Chutzpah

I would use your town or state as a start like the Alabama brass(example). Or Tim and the ( state or town) Brass.

How about 15 Valves? Or Valve 15?

I'm not sure how many valves your instruments have but that's what the number represents :)

How about these ideas:

"Brassed Off"

"Brass Monkeys"

"Brass-Conscious"

"Brass-Mates"

"Brass Razoo" (an Australian colloquialism)

"Metallurgy"

"Metalwork"

"Metal-Mouths"

"Blow-by-Blow"

"Blowfly"

"Blowzy"

"Blow-Out"

"Blow-Up"

"Blowtorch"

"Puffery"

"Pufferfish"

Good luck with finding a name!

EDIT: Just thought of one more, inspired by i. jones' answer: how about "Quintessential."
