Orchestra/Symphony: significant music anniversaries 2011?

Question

I am a volunteer with the local not-for-profit symphony/orchestra. I am doing research for their next season (June 1, 2011 - May 31, 2012). They are looking for people/events to pay tribute to. Please keep in mind that the birthday/anniversary/event should fall between June 1, 2011 - May 31, 2012. track is an important component to my life, so i imagine it must be needed that we a minimum of percentage a majority of our musical tastes. i'm fortunate in liking various genres, even with the undeniable fact that the important 2 I pay interest to are classic Rock, and Celtic {that is frequently sung in Gaelic}, so if a a possibility important different hated those 2 genres... issues would immediately finally end up going nowhere.
