Mozart wrote during the classical period (Roughly 1720's to 1820's It overlaps with the earlier Baroque and later Romantic periods). He, Haydn and Beethoven were the three most famous composers of this period.

Mozart was a master at combining all the known styles available at that time. He was a master at Italian opera (opera buffa, and opera seria), German Singspiel, polyphony, sonata form and polyphony.

He wrote in every single available genre and produced masterpieces in every genre of the day: Opera, Symphony, Concerto, Sonata, Chamber music, Mass, other choral music. He was arguably most adept at Italian comic opera and piano concertos. (Arguably)

He was supported by the Roman Catholic Church (The Archbishop of Salzburg), and the royal court and worked on commission. He was not a very successful business man, overspent, and made enemies easily, so he was frequently penniless, unlike his father.

Mozart used polyphony. Like Bach. Cuz he admired Bach. Mozart usually composed in Major keys. Usually. Mozart composed a variety of pieces from different genres. Concertos, Sonatas, Quartets, Symphonies, Operas, etc. He lived in the classical era.

Mozart was I believe the Emperor's personal composer at some point.

i'm effective that there is a HS or college quiz application that should rejoice with your questions - yet we are adults right here, or a minimum of severe scholars, and discover such triviality a waste of bandwidth, frankly. i'm specific that those human beings right here with effective educations and existence-long careers in expert classical music, ought to easily arise with inquiries to stump YOU - yet we don't experience like *enjoying*, thank you. I even have confidence that there is a few YA limit by contrast sort of quiz-format, too - or must be . . .

Mozart was the practitioner of the "galant" style.

I don't know exactly what that is, but I know that a feature of this style is the "feminine cadence," or a cadence in which the dissonance is on a strong beat and the resolution is on a weak beat.

Mozart's gallantry is especially evident in his minuets. If you bring in a few Mozart minuets with all the feminine cadences marked, that will surely impress your teacher.
