I've been playing piano my whole life (I am 17). I practice everyday for hours. I play very advanced pieces (my piano teacher struggles playing them). I've been to numerous concerts of famous pianists including those who have performed at Carnegie Hall. I am able to play their pieces. (I play Classical, btw). I was just wondering if my piano playing could get me anywhere. Seeing all of these famous pianists play songs that I can play just makes me wonder.

I have adjudicated hundreds of pianists, as well as singers and flutists. Sounds like your teacheris minimally qualified. And, you are unrealistic, and unable to discern fine artistry when you hear it in others. Find a truly demanding and professional teacher. See if you can be admitted into a TOP conservatory. Let us know when you graduate.

I studied violin for years. I found that there were a great many more concert violinists, than there were violin concerts. I know of several very fine violinists, working as gas station attendants, and giving lessons to kids that don't want to play. I'm sure the piano is very much the same. You need someone to book a concert for you. And to promote you. Finding such a benefactor will get you a lot farther, than being the best at what you do. The quality of soloists, and recording "artists" has been on a steady decline for a lot of years.

Probably not, but it's still an excellent art form to pursue, you should continue playing the piano if it is something you enjoy. Maybe you could find a job somewhere where a piano player is needed or wanted, like at a wedding, church, bar ETC.

Sure thing in a decade or so.
