Aside from the nylon strings and wider fingerboard - the way in which the guitar is played is different -- you use the fingertips and fingernails instead of a pick .. you can play any type of music, but the style - the classical style is very well defined, even if used in commercial or contemporary music.

Assuming you mean the instruments, and you mean classical guitars and other guitars, the difference is in the strings. Classical guitars are strung with nylon strings today, but they were made with catgut, which is not really cat gut, but animal tendon. Most guitars today, even acoustic guitars, are strung with metal strings. The reason is that metal lasts longer and sounds stronger. There are other differences in the guitars are the necks. Classical guitars have a wider neck with no internal support. The wider neck is to help with fingerpicking or flamenco style, which is how most classical guitarists play. Metal string guitars use a thinner neck for chording and they have a truss rod running inside the neck to keep the strings from bowing the neck.
